The perception that men’s sport is better than women’s sport. This is why women’s sport is not often broadcast on National TV.
As a mom of two little boys, in my opinion, it starts when they are just little boys. It’s not always easy to change perceptions of grown men but we can start teaching our kids to watch female sport on TV and to speak openly with our kids about gender equality on and off the field.
You’re never too old to start over! The best is yet to come.
If you enjoy playing sport and you’re good at it, you have nothing to lose. Keep believing in yourself and pushing your boundaries, you might just be the next best thing!
