Women’s Month: Carly Peters

Co-Founder and host of #sitdownwiththetwins, a podcast where we interview professional athletes to share their story as motivation to the broader public. Programme Manager at Benji Rugby Academy, a home to develop and groom young aspiring players to their full potential.

My Faith in God and my passion to develop, empower and inspire the younger generation.

Marlene Coetzee-George, she’s a go getter and doesn’t allow any set back to get the better of her. She’s courageous, resilient, goal driven and an inspiration to other women, not just in the Sports industry.

The lack of funding for women’s sport.  The lack of support from the public, because the more people support and promote women’s sport, the game will grow and more opportunities will be created. The idea that the public thinks that the sports industry are for men ONLY.

To be the biggest cheerleaders on and off the field to the women in Sport. If they promote women in sport ultimately their supporters will do too. Be advocates to prove that women actually play a fundamental role in the industry, on the field, behind the scenes as well in Management roles.

To keep going even if the going gets tough. Be you, your authentic self. To be my biggest cheerleader.

To be consistent, to show resilience and to persevere, even if it might look a bit daunting/dark at the moment.
To create opportunities to be heard and seen in the industry and to be a sponge to absorb as much as you can.

That no one is in charge of who you become but only YOU.

To create equal opportunities for women and men. To empower and develop young players and to make them confident to explore the world, if given the opportunity.
